Wow! It’s been a while..so what’s new? I can’t believe it’s almost June! This year has really gone by pretty fast.

Well, I just came back from a 3 months tour with Ben Kweller & Pete Yorn. Now I’m just sitting on my butt getting fat. I joined a boot camp it starts in a couple weeks..I’ve never done a bootcamp during Austin summers so I hope I live.

I’m going to Belgium for my 25th birthday..25 already?!!? Then shipping off to Tokyo and Korea for 2 weeks. Originally me and my friend Adam were going to be gone for almost a month, the original itinerary was South Korea, China, North Korea and back home. I was really looking forward to it and a new tour..then the tour got cancelled and I didn’t have enough month to go on a month long journey. The two tours after that would have gotten in the way of the trek but they got cancelled.

Then, out of nowhere flights to Tokyo became dirt cheap (assuming Japan took a big hit in tourism after the earthquake/tsunami), like under 600 dollars for RT tix out of Austin. I’ve always wanted to go to Tokyo..I found an entry from 1995 that said I wanted to go there.  At first I was a bit apprehensive because of the cost and being unemployed and all but what the heck. I’ve got a nice tax refund headed my way..I’m going to pay off all my bills first and should have enough after my trip to invest it in a retirement plan. Hopefully some tours will come my way. I think I’m ready for a teaching experience overseas..at least I know that I’ll be getting a paycheck every month.

The one good thing is I can spend at least a summer month in Austin and do the great summer things Austin has to offer. Kayaking! Barton Springs pool! Sno Cones! Exciting!
