You know what makes life interesting? Excitement, constant movement, change. Sometimes these three things don’t have to be working together for me to feel like my life is fun, but they usually work best together. The past few months have been so incredible because I’ve been taken out of environments I’m familiar with and kind of thrown into situations with people I don’t know, life became exciting again. Not to say my life prior wasn’t exciting, because I feel every tour challenges me in some ways, but never have I felt the rush of excitement that I got on this past tour since well..MY FIRST TOUR EVER.
I think for a while (despite me wanting to admit it) I was growing bored of my life, my job and life wasn’t as fun. I really can’t wait to get out on the road this fall (it is going to be a long ass journey) feeling reinvigorated and see where that can take me. I’ve learned that I know and can work hard every day for many hours and still love life and the people around me ( didn’t have a mood swing once..well..maybe once..). I’m looking to really go out there and make new friends..I have to go back and read old blog posts to see if I say this everytime haha.
In other news, I’m all moved into my new condo. It’s shaping up! I have new paint, new carpet, and sofa, life is pretty grand. I’m trying not to be so anal about little details and working at being a good landlord/roommate. Anyone have good rules and such to abide by? Open communication is key, my roommate has been here for a week now and I still haven’t had the chance to kind of lay out all the things that are expected of me/him. I don’t want to make it feel weird or anything so I’ve avoided it, but I think it’s necessary to make sure everyone is on the same page. One thing I like, he doesn’t change the thermostat! I don’t mind if they do, but I hate it when it’s super cold..I like more conservative temperatures..I guess I made the mistake of saying, ‘OH yah, I don’t really mind if you eat my stuff.’ Should I have attached an amendment to that saying ‘BUT DONT EAT IT ALL?’ We live across the street from HEB for goodness sakes! The one thing I’m super anal about is my sectional. It’s probably really bad to be soo attached to a material item but god, I love that sectional. It also cost me a buttload. Everytime someone drinks wine on that thing or eats around it, beads of sweat start to develop on my forehead…that’s probably why one shouldn’t buy an expensive sofa..but anyways.. I bought a dining room table (not here yet) so hopefulllyyyy it isn’t too rude to ask him to eat there for meals. Is this bad? Am I a dictator? I don’t want to be a dictator. HALP.
