Adventures in Austin.

Posted on 17 August 2009 by maisquared

I love having visitors because it gives me a reason to do a lot of things I normally wouldn’t do. Took public transpo a lot..Trial & error.

We had a few things left on the list to do

  1. Juan in a Million for breakfast
  2. See the bats
  3. BBQ!!!!!!!!!!! (went to SAM’S BBQ on E. 12th)

We (Dilly & I) also saw Julie & Julia @ Alamo Drafthouse. It was a cutesy movie. I just liked staring at the food haha. Tried something new…house made peanut butter cups..not that huge of a fan of peanut butter cups but house made Alama peanut butter cups are AAAMMAAHHHZZZZINNGG.. I am singing the praises! Thanks to Rose for sharing! Sharing is caring. Dilly and I split a root beer float.

Then Dilly and I came home and chowed down on some crabs and then got dolled up for Salsa Dancing lessons at The Oasis. Wow, awesome place! I did actually get in there and salsa dance, and I did enjoy it and I WILL do it again haha…wow..did I say that? The only thing I hated was the drive there and back (a lot of windy roads and highways ahh).

I dropped Dilly off at the airport at 5 AM after a 4 hr nap.. Zzzz..Back to the work that I’ve been neglecting for a week! Well worth it though. I miss her already :( At least my sleeping schedule is back to normal :)

EDIT:

Found an idea for my bare wall facing my dining room area/kitchen

Picture 10

cute? Found this on East Austinite’s blog. A cute east austinite home.

I love that wall! Did she stick those on with those adhesive plate hanger things or tape?

Not sure how those stayed up there but I would totally do it that way, just for ease.

had you ever been to Oasis before?? I just love that place. The food’s pretty okay, but I’d eat anything just to check out that view. :)
